A Spanish wooden small box or casket covered in velvet and mounted with pierced and punched iron strapwork and domed brass studs. 16th/17th century and possibly later.

Condition: An iron lock sits underneath the velvet and iron strapwork, but with no exposed key hole, the velvet and iron coverings must have been added at a later date; likely centuries ago from the appearance and condition. The velvet in worn and in poor condition. Early interior paper covering, but in one place to observe the lock underneath.
