A French gothic oak credence, late 15th / early 16th century, with gothic carving on the doors and pierced tracery in the central panel. Linenfold panels to the sides.
Height 54", width 44", depth 24".
Condition: Small broken part in the pierced tracery. Old restorations to the horizontal moldings, and to some (or possibly all) of the top and bottom slats (which if not original, are no later than the 17th century). Period locks, but added later to this piece as indicated by the marks on the wood adjacent to the locks. Originally with two drawers in the mid section.
